Zlatko Dalic, the head coach of the Croatian national football team, has announced his resignation following the team's elimination in the Round of 16 of the World Cup against Portugal. Dalic took over the team in October 2017 and led it to its greatest successes in history, including the silver medal at the 2018 World Cup and the bronze medal in 2022. In his farewell message, Dalic emphasized his pride in the team's achievements and the unity built alongside players and supporters.

He thanked his collaborators, the federation's leadership, supporters, the press, and his family for their support. Although he still feels the ambition to achieve new successes, Dalic believes that this is the right time to end this era. At 59 years old, the Bosnian leaves proud of his contribution to the success of Croatian football, intending to pursue a new challenge.
