Romania’s women’s national football team were defeated 0-2 on Friday at the Arcul de Triumf Stadium by Norway’s national team in the first round of the play-off for qualification for the World Cup finals, scheduled to take place next year in Brazil.
The Tricolours were dominated from the first minute of the match, and Guro Reiten opened the scoring for Norway in the 10th minute.Norway pressured the Romanians in their own penalty area, and Frida Maanum scored the second goal for the Nordic side in the 34th minute. Romania had just one major chance through Ioana Stancu, but the ball went wide.
The winner of the first round will play against the winner of the Albania - Wales tie.
