Timișoara is preparing to build a new stadium worth 130 million euros, despite Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's intention to postpone the project until 2027 due to the budget deficit. Alfred Simonis, the president of CJ Timiș, stated that his institution will co-finance the project, dispelling speculations about a lack of funds. According to him, CJ Timiș will cover between 30 and 35 million euros over the next 32 years, with a commitment of approximately 10 million euros annually. The works will begin in 2026, exclusively from local funds, and the Government will take over responsibility in 2027. Simonis emphasizes the importance of this project for Timișoara, comparing the city's situation to other locations that already benefit from new stadiums.
