The Romania Stage of the Tour de France, scheduled for August 30, is nearing a sell-out, with registrations closing on August 26. Almost 2,000 cyclists from 17 countries, including Romania, Bulgaria, and the United Kingdom, are already registered.
The event will take place in the center of Bucharest, where traffic will be restricted between 07:00 and 14:00 to ensure the safety of participants. Cyclists can choose from three routes: City Adventure (14 km), The Ride (42 km), and The Race (85 km), each having different age and speed requirements.
The organizers will provide technical and medical assistance throughout the competition. The collection of participation kits will take place on August 29, and the event day will include scheduled starts and an awards ceremony.
"To ensure that participants can pedal in complete safety, on completely closed routes to motor traffic, on Sunday, August 30, between 07:00 – 14:00, traffic will be stopped on the following streets and arteries in Bucharest: Bulevardul Unirii, Bulevardul Mircea Vodă, Splaiul Unirii towards Bucharest, Bulevardul Decebal, Bulevardul Basarabia, Calea Victoriei, Bulevardul Regina Elisabeta, Bulevardul Schitu Măgureanu, the streets Știrbei Vodă and Ion Câmpineanu, Șoseaua Kiseleff, the streets Buzești, Berzei, Vasile Pârvan, Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu, and Bulevardul Libertății.
