The Traffic Police Brigade will impose traffic restrictions in Bucharest from Friday to Sunday for the Bucharest International Marathon, a motorcyclists’ parade and a public gathering. The measures will affect several roads in central and western Bucharest.
The marathon will start and finish in Constitution Square. On Saturday, between 7:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., traffic will be restricted along the routes of the 2-kilometer Fun Run and 10-kilometer race, which include Libertății, Unirii and Decebal boulevards and Splaiul Independenței. On Sunday, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., restrictions will be in place for the 21-kilometer half-marathon and the 42-kilometer marathon, whose route will extend as far as the National Arena.
To set up the start and finish area, traffic will be restricted on Libertății Boulevard from Friday morning until Sunday evening, with additional changes in the area between Națiunile Unite Boulevard and Splaiul Independenței.
On Saturday, starting at noon, the “Pink Ride” motorcycle parade will take place. Participants will leave from the parking lot of the National Library and head toward Băneasa, following the route Mircea Vodă Boulevard – Unirii Square – University Square – Romană Square – Victory Square – Arch of Triumph – Băneasa Bridge.
On Sunday, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., a public gathering is scheduled in Victory Square, followed by participants’ movement toward the Quantic venue. Police recommend that drivers proceed cautiously and follow the instructions of traffic officers.
