The first edition of Bucharest 21K is taking place today in the capital and brings approximately 2,000 participants to the 21-, 10- and 5-kilometer races, as well as to the events for the general public and children. To ensure the competition takes place safely, road traffic is temporarily restricted on several major roads.
The starting and finishing area has been set up at Alveola Kiseleff. Restrictions began at 04:00 in the event area and apply, from 07:00, to most of the route. The affected roads include Șoseaua Kiseleff, Piața Victoriei, Calea Victoriei, Regina Elisabeta Boulevard and Mihail Kogălniceanu Boulevard, with different time intervals depending on the section.
The 21- and 10-kilometer events are scheduled to start at 09:00, while the 5-kilometer race begins at 09:15. Drivers are advised to avoid the route, follow police officers’ instructions, and check access to buildings and parking areas. The organizers recommend using the metro, with access through Piața Victoriei station, and consulting STB updates.
The event is organized by YOLO Events and is part of the national 21K series, alongside the races in Timișoara, Buzău and Brașov.
