The capital affected by traffic restrictions / The Arenas Run and Open Streets close several roads

Central Bucharest is affected today by temporary traffic restrictions introduced for the Arenas Run competition and the Open Streets event. Drivers are advised to avoid the affected areas and choose alternative routes.

Until 11:30 a.m., several major roads in the capital will be closed or restricted. The race route starts on Alexandru Constantinescu Street and continues toward Arcul de Triumf Square, Kiseleff Road and Victory Square. Participants will then reach Calea Victoriei and Splaiul Independenței, via Unirii Square and Decebal Boulevard, continuing to the National Arena.

The restrictions affect a large part of the central areas, which may make it more difficult to cross the city during the first hours of the day. Public transport services are also being modified: 25 STB trolleybus, tram and bus routes will be diverted or temporarily suspended.

Authorities recommend using public transport, especially the metro, and avoiding car journeys in the areas where the competition is taking place.

Separately, Calea Victoriei will remain closed to traffic until 11 p.m. for the Open Streets program. Restrictions in this area will affect traffic throughout the day.
