The 5+6 rule will be applied as of the 2024/2025 season, and by 2025/2026 the minimum number of Romanian players will increase to 6. In addition, Romanian players trained in academies abroad will be assimilated as nationally 'grown up' footballers, FRF president Răzvan Burleanu announced.
