Today marks 39 years since the triumph of Steaua Bucharest in the European Super Cup, achieved on February 24, 1987, when the team defeated Dynamo Kyiv 1-0, thanks to a goal scored by Gică Hagi. This victory came shortly after Steaua won the European Champions Cup in 1986, defeating Barcelona in a penalty shootout. The Super Cup final took place in Monte Carlo and marked Hagi's debut in the red-blue jersey. Coach Anghel Iordănescu thus secured his first trophy as head coach. Steaua emphasized the importance of this moment in the club's history, and Hagi reminisced with emotion about that victory. Additionally, FCSB mentioned the anniversary without claiming the trophy.
