Romania faces Sweden today, at 21:45, at the National Arena, in the fourth round of the Nations League. The match, broadcast live by Antena 1, is the first played by the Tricolors in front of their home supporters after a pointless start and following the heavy 0-6 defeat to Poland in Warsaw.
The national team coached by Gheorghe Hagi lost its first three group matches: 1-2 to Sweden, 2-4 to Bosnia, and 0-6 to Poland. The team’s results and performances have drawn criticism of the players, the head coach, and the leadership of the Romanian Football Federation.
For the match in Bucharest, Hagi cannot rely on defenders Radu Drăgușin and Virgil Ghiță, as they are suspended. Daniel Bîrligea left the squad due to an injury.
The head coach acknowledged that the start has been a poor one and said that Romania must react and secure the victory. Hagi emphasized that he needs time to implement his ideas and build a competitive team.
