Romania has completed the first stage of the World Rowing Cup, held in Seville, with a tally of four medals: one gold, one silver, and two bronze. The standout performance was achieved by Simona Radiș and Ancuța Bodnar, who won the women's double sculls event with a time of 7:01.05, ahead of the Dutch crew. The silver medal was obtained by Ștefan Berariu and Florin Lehaci in the men's double sculls event, with a time of 6:29.46, behind the crew from New Zealand. The two bronze medals were won by the women's four sculls crew and the men's eight plus one crew. Three other Romanian crews finished in fourth place in the men's four sculls, men's four oars, and women's eight plus one events. In the overall ranking, Romania placed fifth, behind Germany, the Netherlands, and Great Britain, who dominated the competition.
