The Romanian delegation achieved a remarkable result at the 2026 Winter Olympics, with the men's bobsleigh team consisting of Mihai Tentea and George Iordache finishing the competition in 5th place. This is the best result obtained by Romania in bobsleigh in the last 34 years, being the second-best result in history, after the 4th place achieved in luge in 1992. Romania has won only one medal at the Winter Olympics, a bronze in 1968, in bobsleigh. Tentea and Iordache finished the final in Italy with a time of 3:42.37, missing the podium by just 0.85 seconds. The competition was dominated by the German teams, with Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer winning the gold medal.
