FC Barcelona captain Raphinha has extended his contract with the Catalan club until 2030, Barcelona announced on Thursday. The new agreement extends the previous deal, which was valid until 2028, by two years and confirms the forward’s role in the team’s project.
At 29, Raphinha has made an excellent start to the season. He has scored 19 goals and provided three assists in 13 matches across all competitions, making him one of the most effective players in European football during this period.
“Our beloved captain will continue to lead our project until 2030,” FC Barcelona said. Raphinha, who joined the club from Rennes in 2022, said in September that he wanted to remain at the club and even end his career at Camp Nou.
The Brazilian was named captain this season following the departures of Ronald Araujo and Marc-André ter Stegen. Repositioned as a central forward after Barcelona parted ways with Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, he has become a leader of the attack under coach Hansi Flick. Raphinha contributed to Barcelona’s last two consecutive La Liga titles, won in 2025 and 2026.
