A night of goals for the Catalans! Barcelona decisively defeats Racing Santander 7-2

FC Barcelona secured their sixth consecutive victory since the start of the season on Wednesday. Hansi Flick's team won 7-2 against Racing Santander in a match that confirmed their excellent attacking form.

Raphinha was the Catalans' main goalscorer. The Brazilian scored three times, including two penalties, and has reached nine goals in the first six LaLiga matches. The achievement puts him level with Lionel Messi, who also scored nine times in the first six rounds of the 2017/18 season.

Barcelona have scored 28 goals in the first six rounds, the second-best record in the history of the Spanish league. The record belongs to Sevilla, with 32 goals in the 1940/41 season. The Catalans also have a goal difference of +22, surpassed only by Real Madrid, who had +24 after six consecutive victories in the 1987/88 season.

João Cancelo, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Gabriel Jesus scored for Barcelona, while Asier Villalibre scored an own goal. Yamal missed a penalty, hit the post and had a goal disallowed for offside before scoring to make it 7-2. Hansi Flick praised the intensity and commitment of the entire team, but stressed that the objective is to finish the season as strongly as they started it.
