The match played on the Philippe-Chatrier court was dramatic, with Fonseca coming back from 0-2 in sets to win 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 7-5. Djokovic controlled the first two sets, but Fonseca began to play aggressively in the third set, gradually taking control. At the end of the match, Fonseca stated that it was a great pleasure to play against a legend like Djokovic.
