Japanese player Naomi Osaka, ranked 23rd in the WTA, defeated Czech player Karolina Muchova, ranked 11th in the WTA, with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (3) on Wednesday, qualifying for the semifinals of the US Open. In the penultimate round of the competition at Flushing Meadows, Osaka will face Amanda Anisimova.
