The pair formed by Jaqueline Cristian (Romania) and Olga Danilovic (Serbia) was eliminated on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the doubles event at the Japan Open tournament in Osaka. They were defeated by the team of Nadiia Kichenok (Ukraine) and Makoto Ninomiya (Japan) with a score of 7-5, 5-7, 10-6, after a match that lasted one hour and 52 minutes. On the same day, Jaqueline Cristian also played in singles, where she managed to advance to the round of 16 by defeating the 8th seed, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, with a score of 0-6, 6-4, 6-2. Cristian, ranked 47th in the WTA, will meet in the quarterfinals the top seed, Japanese Naomi Osaka, who is ranked 16th in the WTA.
