Marcel Bîrsan, 44 years old, was elected president of the Bucharest Municipal Football Association (AMFB), achieving a clear victory against his opponent Ilie Drăgan. Bîrsan, an active referee in the SuperLiga, stated that he was confident in victory and emphasized the importance of transparency and dialogue in managing the association. Although he did not specify his first decision, he mentioned that he would organize an Executive Committee meeting to analyze the financial situation of the affiliated clubs. Bîrsan avoided getting involved in the Referees Committee, highlighting its independence. During the elections, he also commented on the scandal generated by Drăgan, stating that there were no issues in the hall and explaining the voting rules. Bîrsan aims to implement all points from his program and address the financial issues of the clubs.
