Marc Márquez, recent winner of his seventh world title in MotoGP, underwent surgery on his right shoulder due to an injury sustained from an accident in Indonesia. Although a conservative treatment was initially chosen, the instability of the affected area necessitated surgery. Márquez is now recovering at home, and his availability for the races in Australia and Malaysia is uncertain. He will be replaced by Michele Pirro in these stages.
