Manuel Neuer, the captain of Bayern Munich, suffered a thigh injury during the Bundesliga match against FSV Mainz, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Although he played the entire match, the club confirmed on Monday in a statement that Neuer has suffered a tear in a muscle of his right thigh. Unfortunately, the goalkeeper will be unavailable for an indefinite period, and 22-year-old backup goalkeeper Jonas Urbig will take over his position during his absence. Urbig has had the opportunity to play in four matches this season, but Neuer's absence represents a significant loss for the team.
