Before the Champions League match at the Parc des Princes, FC Barcelona announced that it would file a complaint with UEFA following a display put on by PSG supporters. The banner, titled “The Parisian Massacre,” depicted a masked character wearing the French champions’ jersey, holding a chainsaw and destroying the Catalan club’s emblem.
The incident took place moments before kickoff, in a tense atmosphere, and Barcelona said it had reported the situation to the UEFA observer present at the stadium. The Catalan club also called for the removal of several signs bearing insulting messages directed at Barcelona, including “Puta Barça,” while UEFA was expected to decide whether to open disciplinary proceedings against PSG.
