Lando Norris will be penalized 10 places on the starting grid at the Belgian Grand Prix

Lando Norris, the British Formula 1 driver, will face a 10-place grid penalty at the Belgian Grand Prix, scheduled for Sunday. This penalty comes after the McLaren team decided to install a new electronic control unit for the power unit, which represents the fourth electronic component used by Norris this season, exceeding the allowed quota. McLaren explained that the first unit had an irreparable failure during the Chinese Grand Prix, and the second failed during the free practice sessions in Monaco.

Although the third unit is functional, the team decided to implement improvements to increase the reliability of the electronic systems, which necessitated the penalty. The change was made at Spa-Francorchamps, a circuit favorable for overtaking, before the more challenging races at Hungaroring and Zandvoort.
