The two players have met once before, in 2019, when Begu won. In her next match, Begu will play Daria Kasatkina (18th WTA). Other Romanian players, such as Jaqueline Cristian and Sorana Cîrstea, have scheduled matches, while Anca Todoni and Gabriela Ruse have been eliminated.
