Helmut Marko, an emblematic figure in Formula 1 and advisor to the Red Bull Racing team since 2005, has confirmed that he will leave the team. At the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, he acknowledged that his future is uncertain and that he will make a decision following discussions. Marko has been responsible for recruiting successful drivers, such as Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, and played a crucial role in keeping Verstappen at Red Bull following the sexual harassment scandal in 2024. Although he does not have an official contract with the team, he is an employee of Red Bull GmbH. In this context, Red Bull faces challenges in the absence of his influence. Verstappen, under contract until 2028, missed out on a fifth consecutive title, finishing the season in second place.
