At the match between Lokomotive Leipzig and Schalke 04, striker Christopher Antwi-Adjei was the victim of racist insults and the match was stopped. Another incident occurred at the Stahnsdorf-Kaiserslautern match. Infantino stressed that there was no place for racism in football and called for respect and protection for the players. The German Football Association has launched an investigation into the incidents.
