George Cosac won, on Wednesday, a new term as president of the Romanian Tennis Federation, following the elections held at the National Tennis Center in the Capital. Although seven candidates registered for the elections in April 2026, only Cosac, Dumitru Hărdău, and Silviu Cristian Matei remained on the ballot. A total of 204 clubs with voting rights were present at the General Assembly, and Cosac received 159 votes, while Hărdău received 3, and Matei 27.
The total number of affiliated members has increased to 307, but 53 of them do not have voting rights due to non-payment of dues. George Cosac was elected for the fourth time as president, having previously held the position in 2013 and 2017. The previous elections were contested due to legal issues related to the registration of members.
