FC Buzău, a club founded in 2016, is on the brink of disbanding due to high debts and poor management. The Buzău CJ leadership has announced that the City Hall can no longer financially support the club and the private sector is withdrawing from the association. Interim president Adrian Petre emphasized that the poor performance of some foreign players also contributed to this situation. However, CJ Buzău will support Metalul in the future.
