Elisabeta Lipă, the president of the Romanian Rowing Federation, reacted following the scandal related to the illegal bonuses granted to employees, including waiters and security guards, who received amounts ranging from 200 to 10,000 euros. Following an audit, it was found that these bonuses are illegal, and Lipă was criticized by Bogdan Matei, the president of the National Agency for Sport, for the poor management of funds.

In response, Lipă expressed frustration regarding the criticisms aimed at the allocation of money for employees who contribute to sports performance, emphasizing the importance of their work. She suggested that those dissatisfied should propose legislative changes, highlighting that employees in the field do not work just eight hours a day.
