The Disciplinary and Ethics Commission of the Romanian Football Federation issued the verdict in the case of the suspicious match in Liga 3 between Jiul Petroșani and Vulturii Fărcășești (score 3-2, after 0-2 at halftime), played in May 2025.
On May 3, 2025, in the 7th round of the Liga 3 play-out, CSM Jiul Petroșani hosted Vulturii Fărcășești. The guests led 2-0 at halftime, but the hosts won 3-2 after a bizarre second half, during which there was suspicious activity on Asian betting markets.
The match came to the attention of the Integrity Department within the FRF, especially since it was surrounded by public statements suggesting that it was not played fairly. The investigation started from suspicions regarding the betting scenario "2 at halftime / 1 final with at least 5 goals", where the odds on Asian platforms reached astonishing values between 90 and 110.
Everything started from the ProSport investigation - Case 100 Odds - which was published in several episodes last summer. Today, the Disciplinary Commission dictated the sanctions in this case. The federal body imposed drastic penalties: cumulative suspensions of heavy years from football activity and fines exceeding a total threshold of 2.15 million lei, which is over 400,000 euros.

The referees Iuliana Demetrescu and Alina Mihoc, also accused by Jiul's goalkeeper, Jan Turiță, of not stopping the match or taking other measures to prevent what happened, received a warning.
The club CS Vulturii Fărcășești was fined 200,000 lei as an institution.
Erika Preda, president of the CSM Jiul Petroșani club, was suspended for one month and fined 10,000 lei.
