FC Universitatea Cluj has announced the extension of Dan Nistor's contract, at the age of 37, an essential player for the team. Nistor joined the club in February 2023 and played an important role in saving the team from relegation and reaching the final of the Romanian Cup. In the 2022-2023 season, he played 15 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 decisive assist. In the 2023-2024 season, he was a starter in 44 matches, having 16 goals and 12 assists.

In the current season, he has played 39 matches in the Superliga, contributing with 11 goals and 6 assists, helping the team qualify for the playoffs and European cups after 53 years. With 496 matches in the top league, Nistor is in second place in the ranking of players with the most appearances, surpassing big names in Romanian football.
