The former defender of Rapid and the national team of Romania, Cristi Săpunaru, was asked about the dispute between FCSB and CSA Steaua, responding that both clubs have merits. He acknowledges that CSA Steaua holds the record, while FCSB has continued its activity without interruption. Săpunaru emphasizes that Steaua has never disappeared, even during the period when CSA was not active.
He also stated that he will not accept offers from major rivals Dinamo and FCSB, asserting that he has never played for these clubs and will not do so in the future, regardless of salary. Săpunaru is open to joining other teams, but remains firm in his refusal towards FCSB and Dinamo.
