The Chelsea club from west London has announced the separation from coach Liam Rosenior, after a series of disastrous results that left the team with reduced chances of qualifying for the Champions League. Rosenior, appointed in January, managed to secure only one victory in the last eight matches, including a humiliating defeat of 3-0 against Brighton & Hove Albion. This defeat was decisive, with Chelsea falling to seventh place in the standings, seven points behind Liverpool, a team currently in fifth place. The club communicated that the decision to dismiss was not taken lightly, but the results were below the expected standards.

Until the end of the season, the team will be led by Calum McFarlane, interim coach. Chelsea has recorded five consecutive defeats in the league, without scoring a single goal, a performance not seen since 1912. The only recent victory was a clear 7-0 win in the FA Cup against Port Vale.
