Bayern Munich announced on Friday the transfer of German defender Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, for a reported sum of 55 million euros, on a contract that will extend until 2031. Brown, at 23 years old, will compete with Alphonso Davies, who has had injury problems, for the left-back position.
Brown stated that Bayern is "one of the biggest clubs in the world" and that discussions with coach Vincent Kompany convinced him to take this step. Bayern is looking to improve after an excellent season in 2025-26, when they won the league and cup, reaching the semifinals in the Champions League. Brown made his debut for Germany in October and had a significant contribution in the opening match of the tournament, scoring a goal and providing an assist in the 7-1 victory against Curacao.
He was transferred to Frankfurt from Nuremberg in 2024 for 3 million euros, having a remarkable performance in the Bundesliga, with four goals and four assists in the previous season.
