Double Olympic champion in pole vaulting, Duplantis recorded the performance at the IFU Arena in Uppsala, during the Mondo Classic, an indoor competition dedicated exclusively to pole vaulting, held in Sweden and named after him. This is the second time Duplantis breaks the world record in Sweden. In June last year, he jumped 6.28 m in Stockholm, one of the four world records set in 2025.
"I am very proud that I managed to do this in front of you," said Duplantis. "I jump for myself, I jump for my family, but I also jump for you, for Sweden, and for all those who support me."
