World No 2 Alexander Zverev was knocked out by Francisco Cerundolo in the last 16 of the Madrid Masters 1000, 7-5, 6-3

Zverev, a two-time winner in Madrid, was beaten by Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo in two sets in less than an hour and a half. Cerundolo will play Czech Jakub Mensik, who beat Alexander Bublik, in the quarter-finals. With Zverev's elimination, there are no former tournament winners left in the competition.
