The file "Bank Fraud": Extended arrest warrant for Vladimir Plahotniuc at the Chișinău Court

The Chișinău Court decided on December 22, 2025, to extend the arrest warrant for Vladimir Plahotniuc, in the context of the 'Bank Fraud' case, which is at the stage of judicial investigation.

The arrest warrant will be applied from December 24, 2025, when the other warrants issued in his name in the three criminal cases will also expire. Plahotniuc, extradited from Greece on September 25, 2025, is accused of having benefited from large sums of money embezzled from banks between 2013 and 2015. In total, he is being investigated in four cases, including for corruption and money laundering. Additionally, Plahotniuc stated that he does not complain about the detention conditions in Penitentiary No. 13, where he is incarcerated.
