The Government of the Republic of Moldova has begun negotiations with the Russian company Lukoil for the acquisition of energy infrastructure at Chișinău International Airport, as part of the implementation of recent American sanctions. The airport director, Sergiu Spoială, stated that there are no risks to aviation fuel supply, emphasizing that discussions are at an advanced stage and results are expected in the coming days. The pro-European government in Chișinău intends to purchase Lukoil's facilities to ensure the continuity of kerosene supply, and the Ministry of Energy is seeking advantageous solutions for the state. Lukoil has been required to cease operations in Moldova by November 21, according to sanctions imposed by the U.S., but the government has requested a temporary exemption to prevent supply disruptions.
