The Central Electoral Commission sanctioned PPDA, led by Vasile Costiuc, for not reporting promotional expenses on social platforms, despite the observed activity on TikTok. It was also found that the party benefited from support from coordinated accounts, without indicating the financial sources. In the elections on September 28, PPDA received 5.62% of the votes, while the Action and Solidarity Party won the majority with 55 mandates. Vasile Costiuc, the party leader, defends himself by saying that in the Republic of Moldova, it is not possible to pay for the promotion of electoral materials on TikTok.
