Drone attack at the border between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova / Tabachi crossing point damaged

The Border Police of the Republic of Moldova heard, around 00:35, specific drone noises and observed explosions on the territory of Ukraine, near the Tabachi crossing point.

The drones fell approximately 300 meters from the border with the Republic of Moldova, and the incident was confirmed by the State Border Service of Ukraine.

As a result, the activity of the Mirnoe - Tabachi crossing point was suspended, with no casualties reported. Authorities in Moldova have mobilized the Border Police and found no drone fragments on national territory. Citizens are advised to remain calm and avoid areas with drone debris.

On August 20, a drone illegally flew over the airspace of Moldova, and President Maia Sandu condemned the Russian attacks, calling for a stronger international response.
