The decision to extradite Vladimir Plahotniuc was taken in his absence at a meeting attended by his lawyers and representatives of the Moldovan Embassy. Although the Court of Appeal has ruled on extradition, Plahotniuc's assets will remain in Greece for the time being. The Prosecutor General's Office of Moldova emphasized that this decision is not final and that the Greek Ministry of Justice will take the final decision on extradition.
