Chisinau police detained six young people after a 19-year-old student was assaulted and humiliated

A 19-year-old student was allegedly assaulted and subjected to humiliating acts by a group of young people on the evening of September 24, near student dormitories in Chisinau. Police announced the detention of six people suspected of involvement: four minors, including a 16-year-old girl, for 24 hours, and two adults, for 72 hours.

According to investigators, the victim was with the 16-year-old girl when the two met five young people from her social circle. For reasons that remain to be established, the student was allegedly physically attacked and then subjected to humiliating and degrading acts.

After the case was reported, police identified and located the suspects. The investigation is continuing to clarify the circumstances and establish the responsibility of each person involved.

The Police of the Republic of Moldova condemns all forms of violence and humiliating behavior and emphasizes that such acts cannot be tolerated, regardless of the circumstances.
