Ștefan Pălărie, the leader of the USR senators, stated that the elections for the Capital City Hall could be scheduled for December 7, after Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan emphasized the importance of organizing them as soon as possible. Pălărie mentioned that Bucharest needs a legitimately elected mayor to address issues of mobility, transport, heating, and urban planning. He expressed confidence that the PSD will not break the governing coalition and supported the idea of a right-wing alliance.

He also criticized the current situation of the interim mayor, Stelian Bujduveanu, considering him illegitimate due to the lack of organized elections. Pălărie emphasized the need to continue the reforms initiated by former mayor Nicușor Dan.
