After the resignation of Ionuț Moșteanu from the position of Minister of Defense, USR is in search of a replacement. The party leadership is analyzing several options, including Bogdan Rodeanu, vice president of the Defense Committee, and Alexandru Dimitriu, who was considered for a previous ministry.
Additionally, Mihnea Motoc, former minister in the Cioloș Government, and Dragoș Tudorache, former MEP and current representative at the European level, are discussed as options. Sorin Țipoș and Nicu Fălcoi, both USR senators, are also on the list of potential candidates.
The president of USR, Dominic Fritz, will have consultations with Nicușor Dan, and the final decision will be made by a vote within the party. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that Radu Miruță, the current Minister of Economy, will temporarily take over the Defense portfolio.
