USR Deputy Alexandru Dimitriu announced that he will submit a request to terminate the mandates of the four PSD judges at the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR), on the grounds that they are boycotting meetings and blocking decision-making. Dimitriu believes that their actions are equivalent to a coup, emphasizing that judges have a legal obligation to participate in deliberations. He accused that their intentional absences have led to a lack of quorum necessary for adopting resolutions, especially in the context of discussions about the special pensions of magistrates. The president of the CCR, Simina Tănăsescu, confirmed that the meeting regarding magistrates' pensions was postponed to January 16 due to the lack of quorum, mentioning that deliberations are not completed. Dimitriu criticized PSD for wanting a paralyzed Court that would protect the interests of the corrupt.
