The mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritz, leader of USR, had a meeting with interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, leader of PNL, where they discussed the consultations on Monday at the Cotroceni Palace, convened by President Nicușor Dan. Both leaders agreed to convey that they will not support any form of government that involves PSD. Fritz emphasized the importance of successfully finalizing the renegotiation of the PNRR program for the essential projects of local administration. He also mentioned that USR and PNL will jointly initiate a package of laws in Parliament to meet the PNRR milestones, thus demonstrating their commitment to the necessary reforms for Romania.

Prime Minister Bolojan confirmed that PNL will collaborate with USR in the consultations on Monday and will support projects related to the absorption of European funds and the financial stability of the country. Bolojan is on a visit to Timiș County, where he will participate in the graduation ceremony of the 2026 class at the West University of Timișoara.
