The leader of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, announced that the parliamentary groups decided that the parliamentarians will not be in the hall at the time of the vote for the investiture of the Veștea government, arguing that "what is happening now is not about Romania, it is a struggle between different parties and groups from different parties."
"We have decided not to support the investiture of the government, we will not vote at the moment when the list and the government program will appear," Kelemen Hunor announced, emphasizing that there was only one abstention and no votes against.
According to him, UDMR parliamentarians will not be in the hall at the time of the vote.
"What is happening now is not about Romania, it is a struggle between different parties and groups from different parties and we do not want to be involved in this struggle; if it were for Romania, we would have been in the hall," Kelemen Hunor emphasized.
UDMR decided, in the meeting on Tuesday, that it will not be part of the Veștea Government. The Permanent Council of UDMR also formulated a recommendation to the parliamentary groups not to vote for the investiture of the Veștea Cabinet, but formally the decision will be made by the parliamentary groups of UDMR.
