The Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, addressed the difficulties encountered in the process of unblocking the new General Urban Plan (PUG) during a conference dedicated to the real estate market in Romania. He explained that the project is stalled due to misunderstandings between the team in the mayor's office, the contractor, and the university, which, despite supporting the same idea, fail to collaborate effectively. The project is linked to a 13-year-old contract, and two companies from the initial consortium are no longer involved. Ciucu mentioned that the administration is looking for solutions to continue the work, including the possibility of organizing a new tender. Although the current PUG is extended annually, the mayor emphasized that the new PUG could be more restrictive for the central area. He expressed the desire for discussions to be public, involving specialists to find effective solutions.
