The Senate of Romania rejected the bill initiated by USR aimed at preventing professional burnout, known as burnout. The bill was put to a vote on Monday, receiving 15 votes 'for', 37 'against', and 51 abstentions. Although burnout affects both employees and the performance of companies, the concept is not regulated in Romanian legislation.

The USR initiative proposed the right of employees to report risks of professional exhaustion without retaliation, the obligation of employers to inform employees annually about risks and prevention methods, as well as granting days off for professional recovery. The project was exclusively supported by USR senators and one PSD parliamentarian, Victoria Stoiciu. Now, the initiative will be debated and voted on in the Chamber of Deputies, the decision-making body.
