The governing coalition meets on Wednesday at the Victoria Palace, the first meeting after the PSD vote against the Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu. The PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that the PSD will continue to demand her dismissal, while the USR president, Dominic Fritz, criticized the PSD vote, emphasizing that the USR remains in the coalition and supports Buzoianu. Other contentious topics include raising the minimum wage, cutting salaries in central administration, and the budget for 2026.
Kelemen Hunor, the leader of UDMR, acknowledged that the coalition is not functioning optimally, but emphasized that he will not vote for motions against coalition colleagues. President Nicușor Dan commented on the tensions, highlighting the difficulty of explaining the coalition's situation abroad. The coalition needs to reach a quick agreement to avoid future budgetary problems.
