The dismissed Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that the analysis of over 10,000 projects funded through the PNRR, most of which have local authorities and schools as beneficiaries, must be completed by the middle of this week. Of the total, over 5,000 projects are managed by the Ministry of Development, over 2,500 by the Ministry of Education, and over 1,500 by the Ministry of Environment. Bolojan organized a videoconference with the prefects, asking them to inform the municipalities about the necessity of sending data related to the status of the works and completion deadlines. The Ministry of Development has provided municipalities with a guide and an electronic platform for collecting this information.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of mobilizing beneficiaries and contractors to complete projects on time, warning that failure to do so could lead to the loss of European funds. The PNRR has a significant impact on investments in Romania, with over 10 billion euros allocated for various fields. Negotiations with the European Commission also aim to adjust the program's objectives.
